NEW LOCATION PROVIDES AN EXPANSION AND CUSTOM OFFICE WITH MODERN SPACE

Global engineering and design firm Stantec announced they will be relocating their downtown office at 500 Main Street to the new Water Campus south of the Mississippi River I-10 bridge. Stantec will be moving to a new building located at 1200 Brickyard Lane, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in the summer of 2019. Stantec’s interior design/workplace team has designed the interior space for the new office encompassing the majority of the fourth floor in the 94,000 square foot building.

Stantec’s new office space will overlook the river and the campus’ Main Square, a green space that will encompass a unique water and design feature that will be embraced throughout the campus. The new floorplan will include private offices, cubicles, collaboration areas and conference rooms.

“As our office has grown over the past 33 years, our commitment to the Baton Rouge community has been crucial to our success. Moving our team to the Water Campus is a great opportunity to further that commitment,” said Mike Bruce, senior principal, Stantec Baton Rouge. “We are excited to work with our internal interior design team to create a brand new, customized, modern, and collaborative office space that will allow better partnership among our staff members,” added Steve Wallace, Managing Leader for Stantec Baton Rouge.

Stantec was recently selected by Louisiana’s Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) to provide engineering, geotechnical, surveying, and other technical design services for the Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion project. A key component of Louisiana’s Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast, the project is one of only two large-scale sediment diversions in the world.

Stantec is the first private tenant lease to be signed on the Water Campus. “It has always been our intention to bring the finest minds in science, engineering, and academia together on the water campus and we are thrilled to have Stantec be the pioneer for the engineering community,” said John Davies, president, CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.

1200 Brickyard Lane will be the fourth building to be constructed on the Water Campus. Soon to follow will be 200 Water Street, twenty loft-style apartments and the Main Square which sits between these two buildings. Water Street, the main thoroughfare through the campus will be finished sometime this month.
