The downtown Heidelberg and Capitol House Hotels had been closed for more than two decades and redevelopment seemed impossible. The abandoned buildings were an eye-sore to the area and it seemed inevitable that the buildings would be torn down. $70 million later, the new Hilton Capitol Center brought four diamond elegance and service back to historic downtown Baton Rouge.
